Terms & conditions at our Cardiff bed & breakfast

We have made every effort to ensure that all information contained within this web site is accurate and we shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage whatsoever, which may arise from any reliance upon the use of this web site or any third party links. We want you to come back again. We feel that we have a flexible approach to most things but that it is sensible to lay out some matters to avoid misunderstanding. The fact that you are reading this indicates to us that you are a guest who would fit in and enjoy our style of hospitality.

Disabilities

We seek to ensure that we meet our obligations under the Disability Rights Legislation. Our guest rooms are unlikely to be suitable for persons with mobility difficulties.

You can read our access statement here

Reservations

We respectfully remind you that a verbal, electronic or written reservation constitutes a legal contract. We advise guests to purchase travel/cancellation insurance. (See useful information)

Check in Times

Check in times are by prior arrangement between 14:00 & 19:00 and only in extreme circumstances will we accept a booking outside these times.

Check in outside of the above times must be agreed at the time of booking. For your convenience and by prior arrangement luggage may be left with us outside the above times and will be stored securely until you check in.

Deposit/Credit Card

Credit card details are required for all bookings in order to secure the room. A £10 reservation fee will be charged to your card at the time you reserve the room and will be credited against the total room charge which is payable on arrival.

If required a second set of keys is available subject to a refundable deposit of £10.

Cancellation

We recommend that guests purchase the necessary travel/cancellation insurance. (See useful information)
We have a constant minimum stay requirement of at least 3 nights, we rarely reduce this to two nights but may, during quiet spells at our discretion.

It has been found that the nearer to an event a cancellation or alteration is received it is more difficult to re-let a room. This is because others who intend to be in town for an event have found accommodation already and those who have been disappointed, have given up looking for somewhere to stay. Our policy is intended to be fair to all concerned. Please do not reserve a room for more nights than you plan stay and seek to alter it later. Our booking software is set, by us, to ensure that our minimum terms are clear. But we have heard it all and sadly, the following condition has been introduced because of the actions of a very few guests

We have special terms and minimum stay requirements for events (sporting and entertainment events and those that also depend on the appearance of one celebrity). At our discretion we may collect any balance due 14 days or more before an event.
In the event of less than 14 days notice of cancellation or alteration of your booking we will make every effort to re-let the accommodation, open it up online and reduce our minimum stay requirement etc. However, we reserve the right to charge the full cost of the booking if the room is not subsequently re-let. We will credit any money we are able to recover in the event of being able to resell a room.

No Shows

Payment of the balance of the total booking in full will be taken from the card used to secure the room/s and the reservation fee will be retained.

On Line Travel Agents  (OTAs)

The Hospitality Business is largely influenced by OTAs, or, at least they seek to control it. Fortunately many guest realise that booking direct enables us to avoid their commission charges and control our prices. If you do book through an OTA you may find that their Terms and Conditions override ours.

Curtailment of Stay

No Refunds Given.

Fire Safety

Our rooms and other areas of the building are fitted with sensitive smoke detection devices. Any person tampering with the detectors or any other equipment will be asked to leave and charged in full for the entire stay plus the engineers call out charge. An additional £100 will be charged for the room as we will be unable to re-let the room until all equipment has been reset.

We carry out a weekly Fire Alarm test, a notice will be posted in your room and at the entry door to give you warning.

We try to carry out the test when the building is otherwise unoccupied but that is not always possible.

Car Parking

We are unable to offer parking however on street parking is available, without restrictions, in the immediate vicinity.

Children

To enable us to provide all our guests with an enjoyable and relaxing stay we regret we are unable to accept children under twelve years old. We would welcome a well behaved child sharing a room with a parent or guardian. In no circumstances is it permitted to leave a child in the building unaccompanied by an adult.

Animals

Assistance dogs are accepted unconditionally. We regret that no other pets are welcome.

Although this is a Northern Irish site we felt that it was one of the best we could find dealing with disabilities.

The Rear Garden

Guests are welcome to relax in our garden. It will probably be a surprise that such a tranquil setting can be found so close to the heart of the city. The number and variety of bird life is challenged only by the antics of the squirrels on their feeder.
